We are seeking an experienced component professional to lead our multi-shift manufacturing operations for roof and floor trusses, and wall panels using the latest in machinery and software technology. Job Title: Truss Component Plant Manager

Job Type: Full-time, On-Site/In-Person (not a remote job)

Location: Premier Building Supply (2300 W. 207th Street, Spring Hill, KS 66083)

Schedule: Day Shift (10 hour shift, Monday-Friday)

Pay: $85,000.00 – $140,000.00 per year, eligible for bonus pay

Job Description

Overall responsibility for component plant production functions: including labor and inventory management, leaderships, customer service, safety, and participation as a member of the market management team. Monitor and influence production efficiencies while helping achieve individual and shared business plan goals.

 

Primary Job Responsibilities:

  • Manage workflow to ensure quality and timeliness of finished product to meet customer expectations.
  • Recruit, train and develop team members to achieve company and individual goals.
  • Keep operating equipment safe and in reliable working order to meet production demand.
  • Forecast future capacity demand to meet customer expectations and share with stakeholders as needed.
  • Ensure the production team works proactively with others to resolve potential issues
  • Monitor and communicate design metrics to measure team productivity
  • Works cooperatively with Sales and Production teams to meet reasonable customer expectations.
  • Hires and develops team members to achieve greater positions of responsibility and contribute to the overall success of the company.
  • Works with IT to ensure system functionality with updated software as necessary.
  • Attend industry events and functions to keep current of trends.
  • Participate in developing annual budgeting process
  • Be willing to offer ideas and innovative ways of completing projects and tasks
  • Perform other duties as assigned

 

Education/Training:

  • Associates Degree or comparable work experience (Required)
  • Knowledge of truss and wall panel production process (Preferred)
  • MiTeK Sapphire experience (Preferred)

 

Work Experience:

  • 5 Years of Truss Component and/or Wall Panel experience (Required)
  • 1 Year of component plant supervisory experience (Required)
  • 1 Year of Saw batching experience (Required)
  • MiTek system admiration experience (Preferred)
  • Experience with component equipment installation (Preferred)
  • Experience in basic R&M responsibilities (Preferred)

 

Functional/Technical Knowledge & Skills:

  • Must have administrative management skills and verbal and written communication skills
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Independent and self-motivated, ability to work with minimal supervision
  • Problem solver, ability to look ahead and understand future steps necessary to complete a task
  • Must have the ability to handle multiple tasks and priorities
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite along with the ability to quickly learn new software
